British film tonight at library

The Friends of the Jamestown Library will show “Waking Ned Devine” tonight, Thursday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m.

This 1998 British comedy, set in a tiny Irish village, is the tale of what happens when a member of the village is lucky enough to win the national lottery, but unlucky enough to die from the shock of it. Other villagers try to figure out a way to collect the prize and have the village get the benefit of the winnings.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, Le Violon Rouge (The Red Violin) will be shown at 6:45 p.m.

Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m.; the event is free.

The movies are part of the winter film series sponsored by the Friends of the Jamestown Library.
