CIAA to hold juried Town Hall art exhibit
The Conanicut Island Art Association will hold its next juried art exhibit, “Absolutely Abstract,” at the Jamestown Town Hall.
All media will be accepted, including 3D works for the new glass display cabinets.
Works may be dropped off between 1 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 4. Up to three pieces may be entered, and non-member works are welcome.
All works must be properly framed, wired and ready to hang, with no sawtooth hangers. Maximum size is 48 by 48 inches and maximum weight is 20 pounds. Due to display limitations, 3D work should not be wider than 12 inches or taller than 18 inches.
Prizes will be awarded in this juried show; Howard Newman is the juror. Works should have been created in the last five years and must not have previously been shown at Town Hall.
An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 11. All artists are encouraged to bring a bio or artist’s statement to be included in a binder that will be available during the exhibit.
