Apply for Community Chorus music award
The Jamestown Community Chorus will offer a $500 Jamestown Community Chorus Music Award.
The award can fund expenses related to the musical development of the recipient and can include vocal or instrument lessons, tuition for a music-related course or program, books and music materials, summer camp, undergraduate or graduate education or an instrument. Musicians of any age (grade 6 and above) in the greater Jamestown community are encouraged to send in an application.
Supported in part by a grant from the R.I. Foundation, this award is intended to encourage interest in music among members of the Jamestown music community, and will support a musical project or activity up to a maximum of $500.
Adults and seniors are also encouraged to apply.
Application forms are available at the Jamestown Philomenian Library; completed applications need to be postmarked by April 2. The winner and all other applicants will be notified by telephone by April 20.
The Jamestown Community Chorus will present the award at its spring concert on Sunday, May 2, which will take place at 3 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church.
