Author to discuss hearing device
The Friends of the Jamestown Library will present author Marie Younkin-Waldman, who will talk about her book, “To Hear the Birds Sing, Conversations with my Heart,” on Thursday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the library meeting hall.
The book includes the story of Younkin-Waldman’s life before and after her cochlear implant at the age of 63. After a lifetime of struggling with a progressive hearing loss, the author was at the point where she could not hear her grandchildren. She finally opted for the technical modern miracle that has changed her life completely.
Younkin-Waldman is also the author of “Simply South County,” a collection of essays, and is the host and producer of the television show “Tea with Marie.”
