Reed to talk about economy Wednesday
U.S. Sen. Jack Reed will be the featured speaker during the second in a series of community conversations sponsored by Central Baptist Church. He will focus on the state of the economy during the event at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7.
Following remarks by Reed, audience members will be able to submit questions as part of the community conversation. The event is open to the public at no charge.
Reed was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996. He previously served as a three-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Rhode Island’s second Congressional district.
As a senior member of the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, Reed has worked to strengthen the national economy and bring business to Rhode Island and create high-paying, sustainable jobs. As a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, he has worked to secure federal funding for his home state for mass transit and community development projects.
