Library and Grange to present ‘A Green Café’
The Friends of the Jamestown Library, along with the Conanicut Grange, will present “A Green Café” on Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m.
This program will feature a showing of the movie Food, Inc., followed by a speakers’ panel of local farmers in partnership with the Conanicut Grange. Learn more about the foods you eat, where they come from and how you can eat local and healthy.
Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) and Michael Pollan (“The Omnivore’s Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto”), as well as social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield’s Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms’ Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising – and often shocking truths – about what we eat, how it’s produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.
Healthy refreshments will be served.
