‘I never received a call back from ACO’

I have been a Jamestown resident for 11 years and have found the public service and residents here to be extremely helpful and friendly. As a true believer in “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then stifle,” I hate to share any negative thoughts or opinions.

However, the recent talk of the ACO position and all the attention it is getting has made me feel that I should share my experience with the ACO.

About two years ago, I began having a major problem with another dog in our neighborhood coming to my house and attacking my dog. It was such a nuisance that I feared an open door. I left a few messages for the ACO in an effort to get some advice and help as to how to deal with the problem.

I never received even one call back.

The dog problem got worse and escalated into a fight in front of my house, which thankfully resulted in no major dog injuries – just my own bloody knees. Again I made the call to the ACO and left a lengthy message reporting the dog fight.

I never received a visit or even one call back.
