Ruggiero to host discussion on LNG
Rep. Deborah Ruggiero invites island residents to “A Conversation about Our Bay, Our Community and LNG” on Monday, April 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Senior Center at 6 West St.
She will be joined by Senate President M. Teresa Paiva-Weed.
The event will be an opportunity for residents to discuss with state leaders Hess LNG’s proposal to bring liquefied natural gas tankers through Narragansett Bay.
Attorney General Patrick Lynch; John Torgan, director of advocacy and Narragansett baykeeper for Save the Bay; and Michael Keyworth, legislative chairman of the R.I. Marine Trades Association, are scheduled to speak.
Members of the public are invited to participate in a questionand answer session with the speakers about what Hess LNG’s proposal means to Narragansett Bay and the community. Pastry and coffee will follow.
