Library book groups to read ‘The Necklace’

The book discussion groups at the Jamestown Philomenian Library will discuss “The Necklace: Thirteen Women and the Experiment That Transformed Their Lives” by Cheryl Jarvis on Monday, May 17, at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, May 18, at 1 p.m.

“The Help” by Kathryn Stockett will be the groups’ June selection.

On Tuesday, May 25, at 1 p.m., a special meeting will be held for “The Reading Across Rhode Island” book selection, “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.”

The library offers two book discussion groups, and meetings are ordinarily held during the third week of the month. The evening group meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m., and the afternoon group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.

Both groups are facilitated by Library Director Judy Bell.

The book discussions are free and open to the public.
