Watson Farm will shear sheep on May 8

Historic New England’s Watson Farm will hold its annual sheepshearing day on Saturday, May 8, from noon to 4 p.m.

Watch as the farm flock sheds its winter coat under the skilled hands of shearers Lara Sullivan and Melissa Higgins. Try your hand at spinning yarn with a drop spindle. Learn as spinners and weavers demonstrate their skills at producing yarns and fabric from the wool produced by the sheep. Pat a baby lamb, visit with newborn chicks and walk the scenic farm trails.

Watson Farm is located at 455 North Main Rd. in Jamestown. Admission is $10 per car; the event will be held rain or shine. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
