Thanks to all for ‘ART NOW’
The Jamestown Arts Center would like to thank everyone who made the exhibition “ART NOW” at the Jamestown Gallery at 47 Conanicus Ave. such a great event.
‘ART NOW’ invited area artists to show their current work and help support the renovation of the Jamestown Arts Center’s property at 18 Valley St., so that we may open our doors and bring wonderful arts programming to the community as soon as we possibly can.
Congratulations to the show’s winners: Didi Suydam, first place; David and Jennifer Clancy, second place; and Alison Lutz, third place.
We are so grateful to our judges, Jesse Smith of 5Traverse Gallery, and Ken Newman for their time and consideration of all the fine work.
Submissions from each participating artist made this a vibrant show: Jillian Barber, Cynthia Blair, Elizabeth Congdon, Jessie Dutra, Karen Imbriale, Ron Imbriale, Scott Indermaur, Kathleen McAreavy, Diana McCallister, Peter Keen, Kate Petrie, Gerald Pomert, Luke Randall, Onne van der Wal, and Josie Wright.
“ART NOW” marks the end of four months of Jamestown Arts Center programming at the Jamestown Gallery, supported generously by gallery artist Pat Tuff.
From January through April, preschool to senior Jamestowners have enjoyed arts classes and events including drama, writing, painting, beading, photography and figure drawing. We are so appreciative to Pat Tuff, each teacher and student, the gallery co-op members for giving us this opportunity, all the visitors to the gallery, the Jamestown Press for all their wonderful coverage, and the many volunteers who helped make our first programming such a fun success.
We are working hard to bring you ART NOW and hope you join us in the future for more JAC events!
