Darlington re-elected RITBA board chair

David A. Darlington of North Kingstown, chairman of the R.I. Turnpike and Bridge Authority, has been unanimously re-elected as chairman by the board of directors. The one-year term starts immediately.

Darlington is managing partner of the public relations firm, the Gildea-Darlington Group, LLC. He has served in numerous executive and management positions in both the public and private sector. Most notably, he was special assistant to Governor Lincoln Almond and has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Merrill Lynch, Verizon Communications and 3M Corporation.

Darlington is the current president and board chairman of the New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center. He serves on the board of the New England Advance Vehicle Consortium and is a founding board member of the American Business Council in Washington, D.C. He has previously served as vice president of the Quonset Point Port and on the Business Park management board.

The election was held during RITBA’s annual meeting.
