Driving without a license

Scott Tarulli, 39, of 1 Berry St. in Plainville, Mass., was charged May 16 with driving without a license/driving on an expired license during a traffic stop on Rt. 138, according to police. A court date will be scheduled in Newport District Court, police said.

Bench warrants

• Joshua M. Neves, 22, of 258 Park Holm in Newport, was picked up May 14 on a bench warrant from Newport District Court during a traffic stop on High Street, according to police. The officer knew there was a warrant for Neves, police said. Neves was transported to the District Court Sheriff, according to police.

• William K. Waddington, 21, of 32 Brighton St. in Providence, was picked up May 14 on a bench warrant from Sixth District Court during a traffic stop on High Street, according to police. He was transported to the District Court Sheriff, police said.

• Brandon Leo, 24, of 425 Carpenter Rd. in Hope, was picked up on a bench warrant from Newport District Court after he was a passenger involved in a minor vehicle accident on Knowles Court, according to police. He was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for May 21 in Newport District Court, police said.

DUI charges

• A juvenile was charged May 15 with first-offense DUI during a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue, according to police. A court date will be scheduled in Family Court, police said.

• Paul Grego, 60, of 162- 45 Cross Bay Blvd. in Howard Beach, N.Y., was charged May 16 with first-offense DUI during a traffic stop for alleged erratic operation on Rt. 138, according to police. He was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for May 21 in Newport District Court, police said.
