Raising awareness of childhood strokes
We would like to thank everyone who showed their support for our son, Gregory, and other childhood stroke survivors by joining us and contributing to our second annual Childhood Stroke Awareness Walk on May 15 at Ft. Wetherill.
Thanks to the generous donations of so many wonderful individuals from Jamestown and beyond, as well as the following businesses: McQuade’s, Spinnaker’s, North Kingstown Stop & Shop, N.K. Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Genzyme Corporation (Mass.), we were able to meet this year’s fundraising goal!
All proceeds from the walk benefit the Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families affected by pediatric stroke and other causes of hemiplegia. Funds go directly into supporting much-needed research.
On Oct. 13, right here in Providence, CHASA will be cosponsoring the 2010 Neurological Diseases in Children Symposium, featuring presentations from pediatric stroke researchers from around the world and bringing in 20 young investigators interested in pediatric stroke research.
Again, our heartfelt appreciation to all of you!
