Jamestown Arts Center to offer glassblowing classes for beginners

Islanders David and Jennifer Clancy will offer a series of beginner glass blowing sessions through the Jamestown Arts Center.

Each session is comprised of three one-hour classes, during which students will learn the basics of shaping, manipulating and blowing glass.

The first two sessions have already started, but the following sessions remain in July and August:

Session 3: The first, second and third Tuesdays in July from 4 to 5 p.m.

Session 4: The first, second and third Thursdays in July from 4 to 5 p.m.

Session 5: The first, second and third Tuesdays in August from 4 to 5 p.m.

Session 6: The first, second and third Thursdays in August from 4 to 5 p.m.

Tuition is $225 per session; students must be 13 or older to attend classes.

All students should come to class with a bottle of water and dressed in long cotton pants, sneakers or shoes, and no neck or wrist jewelry.
