Driving without a license

• Victor Lopez, 56, of 6 Pleasant St., Apt. 1, in Newport, was charged June 12 with driving without a license/driving on an expired license during a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue, according to police. An arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

• Jonathan C. Tartaglione, 23, of 289 Vermont Ave. in Providence, was charged June 13 with driving after denial, suspension/ revocation of license at East Ferry Wharf, according to police. He was also charged with first-offense possession of marijuana and was picked up on an outstanding bench warrant, police said. An arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

• Jeffrey Records, 25, of 148 Main St. in East Greenwich, was charged June 14 with driving after denial, suspension/revocation of license during a traffic stop on Southwest Avenue, according to police. An arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

Bench warrant

Steven Munger, 36, of 95 Southwest Ave. in Jamestown, was picked up June 8 on a bench warrant issued from Second District Court after he failed to appear for a scheduled court date, according to police. He was held at the police station and an arraignment was scheduled for June 8 in Newport District Court, police said.

Domestic assault

Michael W. Nicynski, 36, of 725 Smithfield Rd. in North Providence, was charged June 11 with domestic simple assault after a 38- year-old female reported bruising to her arm by her ex-boyfriend, according to police. He was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

Possession of marijuana

• Heather Hill, 19, of 85 Asquah Drive in North Kingstown, was charged June 6 with first-offense possession of marijuana after police allegedly found her in possession of marijuana while she was a passenger in a vehicle on Tashtassuc Road, according to police. She was held at the police station and an arraignment was scheduled for June 25 in Newport District Court, police said.

• Daniel R. Carvalho, 26, of 184 Indiana Ave. in Providence, was charged June 13 with first-offense possession of marijuana at East Ferry Wharf, according to police. An arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

Possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute

Michael Degregorio, 18, of 77 Tockwotton Farm Rd. in North Kingstown, was charged June 6 with distribution of controlled substance and possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute on Tashtassuc Road, according to police. During a month-long investigation, Degregorio was allegedly observed selling marijuana in Jamestown to a police informant, police said. On June 6, Degregorio was stopped while entering Jamestown and was allegedly found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana, a digital scale and plastic bags allegedly indicating an intent to distribute, police said. He was held at the police station and a felony screening was scheduled for July 15 in Newport District Court, police said.

DUI charges

Chris von Hohenleiten, 53, of 75 Intrepid Ln. in Jamestown, was charged June 10 with first-offense DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after a caller witnessed another vehicle allegedly hit his car and drive off, according to police. The caller gave a description of the vehicle and an officer stopped the car and arrested the operator after he allegedly failed field sobriety tests, police said. He was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for June 18 in Newport District Court, police said.
