Outraged at bridge tolls

I’m from Massachusetts and I’m outraged at the state of Rhode Island digging its hand deep into my pocket.

As if they haven’t collected enough money over the past 40 years to paint that bridge 10 times over. Bottom line, to me, it’s not worth eight bucks each visit to enjoy what, in past years, was a pleasant afternoon or evening in Jamestown – eating at the Oyster Bar or Chopmist Charlie’s; picking up food at McQuade’s or fish at Zeek’s Creek –sometimes just enjoying a coffee overlooking the harbor.

Rather than knuckle under to the toll bandits at the Pell bridge, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Michael J. Wright Weymouth, Mass.
