Ulrich J. Luth, 74
Ulrich J. Luth, 74, of Jamestown died June 19, 2010 at the Newport Hospital. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, on July 16, 1935 and lived there until he completed his engineering studies. In 1957, Ulrich moved to Lima, Peru, where he later met his wife, Diana.
After completing studies at the Harvard Business School, he held senior management positions in New York City and Pittsburgh with Joy Manufacturing Company and in Buffalo, N.Y. with Cooper Industries, Inc, and Cameron International.
In retirement, he volunteered at St. Matthew’s Church in Jamestown and was active in the Circle of Scholars at Salve Regina University in Newport.
He is survived by wife, Diana Sherman Luth; his sons, Thornton and Christopher; daughters-inlaw, Laurie and Heather; and four granddaughters, Audrey, Charlotte, Justine and Sadie.
He is also survived by his brother, Kuno, and his sister, Ute, and their families in Germany.
A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown.
