Audition for JCT’s ‘Cinderella’ production
The Jamestown Community Theatre will hold auditions for its November production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Performances will be the weekends of Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.
Mary S. Wright will direct, with Annie McIntyre as assistant director. Lisa Brown and Mary Haite will produce, and Rebecca Brazil will be musical director with Walter Sage’s assistance, both vocally and on piano. Patti Vandal will also assist. Lee White will be costume director, and a team of artists will design the set.
JCT seeks help from others in all areas of production.
Auditions will be held at the Jamestown Country Club on Aug. 1, with callbacks on Monday, Aug. 2. Times will be announced at a later date; those who will be away at that time must e-mail Mary Wright for a separate audition time by July 10.
Although the show was written for adult performers, the cast will include island residents ages seven through adult. Those auditioning for a lead or medium solo singing role should prepare one verse of a song and must bring the sheet music to the audition.
Performers who wish to appear in the group chorus do not need to prepare a song; however, performers ages 7 through 16 auditioning for a role or for the chorus must memorize a poem or monologue of 8 to 12 lines. JCT also seeks dancers of any age with varying levels of experience in any area of dance. There are some lead, medium and small roles available for all ages.
Crewmembers or others interested in volunteering should call Mary Haite at 855-2693.
Rehearsals will begin Sept. 8 and will continue on Sunday afternoons into the early evening, and on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Not all performers will be needed all the time or at all rehearsals.
JCT welcomes former cast and crewmembers, as well as new faces. Additional information about auditions will be published soon; call Mary Wright at 741- 9818 or e-mail ms.wright@cox. net for more information.
