Sakovits earns honors at UNH

Alexander Sakovits of Jamestown has earned honors for the spring 2010 semester at the University of New Hampshire.

Cohoon graduates Fairfield University

Brianna R. Cohoon of Jamestown recently received a B.A. degree in international studies form Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.

Levesque receives book award

Jaclyn C. Levesque, granddaughter of Paul and Cynthia Levesque of Jamestown, received the Mt. St. Charles Excelcior Book Award in “recognition of her academic achievement, enthusiasm for learning and contributions to her school.”

The award, established 23 years ago, is given to one student nominated by the school he or she attends. Jaclyn was nominated by St. Mary’s School in Cranston. She will be in the sixth-grade honors program in the fall.

Littman graduates Bowdoin College

Abbey Rose Littman of Jamestown recently graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, with a degree in government and legal studies, and a minor in teaching.

Marshall named to dean’s high honors list

Michael Marshall, class of 2011 at Connecticut College and a Jamestown resident, has been named to the dean’s high honors list for the 2010 spring semester.

Ruggiero selected for leadership program

Representative Deborah Ruggiero will participate in the 2010 program for emerging political leaders, sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

The program is held every year on the campus of the University of Virginia for a select group of state legislators who have been nominated by the speaker of the House, president of the Senate or minority leader from their state.

The goal of the program is to inspire these men and women to continued careers in public service.

Smith named to Salve Regina dean’s list

Ashley Smith of Jamestown has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester at Salve Regina University. Smith, a junior, is the daughter of Robert and Lori Smith.
