Donations sought for islander in Afghanistan

A group of Jamestowners is requesting donations of items to send to islander Ross Bohensky, who is serving in Afghanistan. Collection boxes will be at Baker’s Pharmacy and BankNewport.

Requested items include:

• Shaving cream, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo, wet wipes, deodorant for ladies and men (no fragrances), hand lotion and Band-Aids

• Tampons, sanitary pads, ladies underwear

• Comic books, Providence Sunday Journal comics and copies of the Jamestown Press

• Food in plastic bags, such as turkey jerky, nuts, granola bars, powdered additives for water, bagged tuna fish, hard candy

• Crossword puzzles, decks of cards, colored pencils, colored markers, drawing pads

Money for postage is also needed. Send checks to Kathy Rushton at 164 Capstan St. to be used for postage.
