RITBA to auction surplus items
The R.I. Turnpike and Bridge Authority will offer its surplus offi ce equipment and furniture at a silent auction on Thursday and Friday, July 22 and 23.
Among the goods available are computer equipment, filing cabinets, tables, decommissioned toll collection equipment and a 1995 Jeep Cherokee with 143,000 miles on it.
“We would like to find a new home for some assets that we no longer need and have been wasting storage space for some time,” said David Darlington, chairman of RITBA. “Some items have fine scrap value, and others are in very good condition. If we can find people who want to purchase them, then it’s a win-win for both of us.”
All items will be available for viewing and bidding on July 22 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on July 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The highest bidders must agree to collect the merchandise, as RITBA will not incur shipping charges. RITBA reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
