JEF benefit this Saturday

The Jamestown Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and cultural enrichment for students in Jamestown, will hold “Under A Rising Moon,” a fundraising benefit this Saturday, July 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. on the lawn of the summer home Horsehead.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Jamestown Education Foundation and will support programming and scholarships, including an extensive afterschool enrichment program, Save the Bay Jamestown summer camps, the Science and Math Scholars initiative, and the Lawn School instrument library.

The event will include hors d’oeuvres, complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks, as well as a cash bar, all held on the lawn. A silent auction will offer items such as a private catered dinner for 10, a fishing package, a romantic weekend getaway, artwork, theatre and sports tickets, sailing lessons, and a performance by Dead Blues Society, among others.

The lead sponsor for the “Under A Rising Moon” benefit is National Grid. Supporting Sponsors are Island Realty and William Vareika Fine Arts. Contributing sponsors include Newport Investment Management, LLC, Keen Design Group and Peter J. Schott, DMD.

Tickets are limited, and the cost is $75 per person. To purchase tickets, send a check with your name and address to JEF, 77 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, RI 02835. Names will be held at the door.

Horsehead is located at 240 Highland Dr. in Jamestown.
