Visual artists can apply for fellowships
The Rhode Island Foundation is now accepting applications for the Robert and Margaret MacColl Johnson Fellowships. The Robert and Margaret MacColl Johnson Fellowship Fund, established in 2003, provides up to three $25,000 artist fellowships each year, rotating among composers, writers and visual artists on a three-year cycle.
In all three disciplines, fellowships are awarded to emerging to midcareer R.I. artists whose work demonstrates exceptional creativity, rigorous dedication and significant artistic merit. The 2010 fellowships will be in visual arts.
Applications will be accepted online through Sept. 1. To read the complete guidelines, visit www.rifoundation.org or call 274-6676.
