Library programs for kids this week

The Jamestown Philomenian Library invites school-age children and their caretakers to enjoy a hands-on experience with the animals from Biomes Marine Biology Center this Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m.

A short information session is to be followed by the chance for children to have direct interaction with the marine animals of Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean in the tide pools set up right in the library.

Also at the library on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. will be a magic show and balloon animal demonstration by Lon Cerel.

Cerel is a keen combination of performer, comedian and magician. The program is free and open to the public for school-age children and their caretakers.

Both programs are part of the summer reading program. Visit www.jamestownri.com/library for more information.
