Yoga for toddlers among fall programs at rec center

Innerlight Center for Yoga and Meditation owned by Jamestowner, Kim Chandler, celebrates 12 years of collaborating with the Jamestown Recreation Department to bring yoga to Jamestown.

Over the past dozen years the Jamestown Rec-sponsored Innerlight yoga classes have been held in a variety of locations including the community center and the current location at the golf course building. Chandler said the “summer yoga season has been very full,” she noted “People love the convenience of yoga right here on the island and we’ve had plenty of good weather for our outdoor classes at Beavertail. We are very excited about our fall schedule of classes.”

The fall lineup of yoga classes includes the new Wednesday morning Parent & Child class for 18 month-olds to age 3, instructed by Nancy Escher and a new Thursday evening Gentle Yoga class, instructed by Robin Lee. The regular favorite classes offered Mon and Fri mornings as well as Tues evening will also continue.
