CIAA to host Town Hall art exhibit next week
The Conanicut Island Art Association will host its next juried art exhibit, “Oils and Acrylics, ” from Sept. 16 to Nov. 4 at Town Hall.
Only works in either oil or acrylic will be accepted; 3D work will also be included for the display cabinets. The drop-off date is today, Thursday, Sept. 9, between 1 and 4 p.m.
Up to three pieces may be entered; non-members are welcome.
No sawtooth hangers are allowed. All work must be properly framed, wired and ready to hang. The maximum size is 48 inches by 48 inches, and the maximum weight is 20 pounds. All 3D work should be no wider than 12 inches and no taller than 18 inches.
Members’ fee for the first entry is $10, and $5 for each additional entry. Non-member fees are $15 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry.
First, second and third prizes will be awarded. Cynthia Duffy, a retired teacher of advanced placement art at East Greenwich High School and a teacher in the art education dept. at Rhode Island College, will be the juror.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.
