URI to offer music programs for kids
The URI preparatory music program offers private lessons and group classes in the fine arts center on URI’s Kingston campus.
Individual private lessons are available in voice, piano, guitar, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, violin, cello and brasses. Lessons are taught by URI music dept. students, guest artists and faculty.
The fall session begins this Monday, Sept. 13, although lessons may begin at any time during the session if space is available.
Additionally, “Four Hands Together” piano class level I is an eight-week class open to children ages 4 to 7 who come with a parent.
Taught by Christine Müller, the course covers the basic elements of music with songs, rhythms and improvisation on the piano.
The class will meet on Saturday mornings beginning Sept. 25.
