M. Katherine Kennedy, 92
92, of Deck Street, Jamestown, died Sept. 4, 2010. Born in Whitinsville, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Michael E. and Mary K. (Quinn) Tracy and wife of the late T. Frank Kennedy of Woonsocket, R.I.
Mrs. Kennedy was an educator for 20 years, retiring in 1985 from Lincoln High School, where she served as chairwoman of the foreign languages dept. She received a B.A. from Regis College, Weston, Mass., in 1939 and a M.A. from Clark University, Worcester, Mass., in 1940. She also served as president of the Latin Society of Rhode Island.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by three sons, Rev. T. Frank Kennedy S.J. of Boston College, Peter A. Kennedy of Maplewood, N.J. and Steven M. Kennedy of Jamestown; three daughters, Isabel M. Montgomery of Ludlow, Vt., Dr. Kristin T. Kennedy and Tracy Michaela Kennedy, both of Jamestown; two brothers, David Tracy of New York City, N.Y. and Kevin Tracy of Medway, Mass.; a sister, Margaret Tuttle of Bellingham, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her funeral was held Sept. 8 in St. Mark Church, Jamestown. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass.
