Oyster talk at library Sunday

The Friends of the Jamestown Library will host a talk on R.I. Oyster Gardening for Restoration and Education by Steve Patterson this Sunday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m.

Since 2006, Roger Williams University has been successfully implementing the OGRE program in order to re-create oyster reefs throughout the Bay.

This year, the OGRE program expects to release nearly a halfmillion oysters throughout its eight sanctuary sites. Sheffield Cove in Jamestown is now home to 10 floats.

The program is free and open to the public. Call the library at 423- 7280 for more information.
