Thanks to all for house tour success
The Jamestown Historical Society’s annual house tour event was a tremendous success, due to the efforts of many people.
I would like to thank the owners of Cottrell Farm, Rossmere and Gull’s Nest for generously allowing us the pleasure of touring their homes during our annual house tours. We enjoyed a beautifully restored farmhouse, barnyard animals and gardens at Cottrell, a classic Victorian house and grounds at Rossmere, and spectacular views from a wonderful house on Mackerel Cove at Gull’s Nest.
In addition, our sincere thanks to Paul and Suzi Andrews, who opened their home, “The Red House,” in Shoreby Hill for the preview party for our members. We were treated to wonderful views from the front porch, as well as the outstanding results of their careful renovation that has preserved a great deal of the original architectural detail of this wonderful house.
Thanks to all of you who attended, and to the many volunteers who served as organizers and docents. Together, we contributed to the mission of the Jamestown Historical Society to preserve, protect and educate in the wonderful history of our beloved island.
