The Newport County AARP chapter will hold its monthly meeting this Monday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Fenner Avenue Hall in Newport. New members should come at 1:15 and bring their national AARP membership card.

The speaker for October is Florence Archambault, who will present a program on Maud Howe Elliott, Newport’s grande dame and author of “This Was My Newport.”

Members are reminded to bring non-perishable goods for the AARP pantry project.
