Kenyon’s Grist Mill to host harvest festival this weekend

Kenyon’s Grist Mill will host a harvest festival on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission, parking and mill tours are free; however, donations of food and clothing are sought to benefit the Jonnycake Center.

Attendees can savor free samples of johnny cakes, as well as other items, such as pancakes, coffee and other foods, treats and beverage samples that reflect the season. Local food, art and product vendors will be on hand as well.

Enjoy live music and demonstrations of blacksmithing, chair caning, drum making and pottery throwing. Warm up to a bowl of soup or chowder, and sit by the fire to watch how settlers made johnny cakes. Paint a pumpkin, eat candy apples or enjoy woodfi red pizza made with all local vegetables.
