Free fun and treats under the stars
Tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 29, the Conanicut Island Land Trust will host its second annual harvest event geared to young children and their families at the Godena Farm property on North Main Road.
Carol Nelson Lee said that about 100 people turned up for their inaugural event last year and the land trust is hoping for an “equally successful turnout.”
Tailored for children ages 5 to 10, the event will include wagon rides around the 25-acre property, live music, a bonfire and some homemade, healthy treats.
“We encourage kids to come in costume,” Nelson Lee said, adding, “we are hoping for a bright, starry night.”
Homemade cookies and apple cider will be served to all families attending the event.
The wagon rides will be provided by Nick Robertson and his team of draft horses. Bluegrass music will permeate the air and there will be sing-alongs to campfire songs with Emily Anthony.
The festivities begin at 5:45 and run until 7:30 p.m. All families are invited to attend this free event.
