Cast your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 2

We will have the opportunity to vote in the general election next week. The polls are open in Jamestown from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Rhode Island voters will elect a governor, a lieutenant governor, a state treasurer, a secretary of state and an attorney general.

In Jamestown, we will also vote for a state representative and a state senator.

A round-up of the candidates and their views appears in this week’s edition Press.

There are also several ballot questions, including one concerning Jamestown and wind turbines. We have reported on these questions in previous issues of the Press.

The purpose of this editorial is to encourage all registered voters to go to the polls on Tuesday. Participate in democracy. Do your part and vote.

But don’t stop your involvement with just a vote. Show up at the government meetings and voice your opinion. Become involved in the debates over the issues. Write letters to the office holders and to the newspapers. Your participation will make our government better.
