Wright, Rita R. 89
Rita R. Wright, R.N., 89, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Village House in Newport. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry E. Wright.
Born in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Narcisse and Rosealba (Peloquin) Ducharme, she lived in Cranston for over 50 years and was a summer resident of Jamestown for many years. She was a registered nurse who worked for the state of Rhode Island at the Institute of Mental Health and previously at the state hospital before retiring in 1981.
She was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church (Cranston), where she sang in the choir, served on the Diaconate and was a member of the Women’s Group.
She is survived by her daughter Ellen N. Greene, son-in-law Robert Greene of Jamestown, and her two grandchildren, Kathryn and Kevin Greene. She was the sister of the late Doris Stanteiski, Bernadette Ferriere, Lillian DelSignore, Rustand, Del, Alfred and Roger Ducharme.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in Oaklawn Baptist Church, located at 229 Wilbur Avenue in Cranston. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to Beacon Hospice/ Lighthouse Hospice Foundation, 529 Main Street, Charlestown, MA 02129; to the Oaklawn Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Ave., Cranston, RI 02920; or to the Pontiac Free Library Association, 101 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.
