Salk named NEISA Sailor of the Week

Jamestowner Katrina Salk and teammate Atlantic Brugman of Connecticut College won the B Division at the Stu Nelson Trophy Regatta on the Thames River on Oct. 24. They finished in the top five in seven of their eight races and won their division by nine points. They were also the regatta’s low-point winner and named the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Sailors of the Week. “Brugman and Salk sailed really well in the last race to propel us past Yale,” head coach Jeff Bresnahan said.

Salk is a senior and a graduate of Providence Country Day School. Mike Marshall, who attended North Kingstown High School and is from Jamestown, is also currently on the Connecticut College sailing team.
