‘Flying proudly’ at East Ferry

One-hundred and thirty casket flags were flown at the square on Thursday during the Veterans Day ceremony, all donated by families of deceased veterans. The oldest flag was from the Spanish-American War. Sen. Jack Reed, who spoke at the ceremony, commented that there was a “stiff breeze, but the flags were flying proudly.” Photo by Jeff McDonough One-hundred and thirty casket flags were flown at the square on Thursday during the Veterans Day ceremony, all donated by families of deceased veterans.
