Watson Farms thanks Chamber

We would like to thank the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce for its generous donation to Historic New England’s Watson Farm for our Scenic Byway Center Corridor project. The funds will be used to clear out vegetation and restore the stonewall along North Road at the Watson Farm.

This project will open up pastoral views into the farm fields at Watson Farm and further the community’s wareness and appreciation for the agricultural legacy on Conanicut Island. All who travel through the center corridor will benefit from the work that is accomplished with these funds.

Last summer the Chamber partnered with the Watson Farm to host the “Night at the Watson Farm” for a festive evening in the farm fields overlooking Dutch Harbor with great food provided by Chopmist Charlie’s, music by Slippery Sneakers, a Cajun Zydeco Band, and incredible silent and live auctions. The 300 attendees had a great evening of fun, food, music and dance.

The Chamber committee for the event was a joy to work with and everyone on the committee did a fantastic job working together to pull off such a great event.

Again, a big thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for doing such a great job to help the Jamestown community and to have some summer fun to boot. Next year is the Chamber’s 10th year for the event and surely this one will be the best one yet and a party not to be missed.
