Museum celebrates Stuart’s anniversary

On Friday, Dec. 3., the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace and Museum in Saunderstown will celebrate the 255th anniversary of Gilbert Stuart’s birth. Stuart, who is most famously known for painting the portrait of George Washington on the one-dollar bill, will be honored with an exhibition of his work and a sale of over 50 artworks by some of his contemporaries.
