Newport Navy Choristers sing for charity

The Newport Navy Choristers, under the direction of JoAnn Loewenthal, will present Christmas in Song, a concert in conjunction with the month-long Christmas in Newport celebration, on Friday, Dec. 10, at St. Lucy’s Church on 909 West Main Road in Middletown, R.I. at 7:30 p.m.

The Newport Navy Choristers are made up of active duty, retired, and reservist military, their dependents, and U.S. Department of Defense personnel. The Choristers have performed for over 50 years and have made over $350,000 for local charities. They rehearse every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Perry Hall, Room 100, at the Newport Naval Station and always welcome new singers.

This year the Choristers have chosen the Potter League for Animals, an organization that is dedicated to the improvement of animal’s lives, as their sponsor.

Tickets are $10 for Adults and $6 for seniors and children. They also offer a family package for $20 Tickets can be purchased by any Chorister member or by calling the Potter League for Animals at 846-0592. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
