Thanks to so many during holiday season
The members of the St. Mark Outreach Committee would like to thank the Boy Scouts and their leaders for the donations from their recent food drive. Not only did they collect the generous donations left out by Jamestowners, they sorted and delivered the items to St. Mark Church.
We would also like to thank the many groups and individuals who donated Thanksgiving turkey baskets and food items. The Jamestown Rotary each year has generously donated bountiful baskets and helped so many. Thank you also to Maggie Grenier, Sue and Bill Brayman who pick up and deliver baskets donated by the Salvation Army. The Cub Scouts, under the direction of Will Tuttle, the sixth-grade children at Our Lady of Mercy, under the direction of Paula Noll, and the Jamestown school bus drivers. Thank you for your turkey basket donations.
Thank you also to the kindergarten children in Ms. Mitchell’s, Mrs. Green’s and Mrs. MacIntyre’s classes. These children brought in money earned at home and walked to McQuade’s Market where they purchased items to be added to Thanksgiving baskets. What a wonderful lesson in caring and sharing.
The Outreach Committee would also like to thank all the knitters under the direction of Kathy Rushton. Your donations of 45 knitted scarves were added to the turkey baskets and will keep many warm this winter.
With the help of so many kind and generous individuals and organizations we have been able to help our neighbors have a Happy Thanksgiving.
