To everyone who took part in ‘Cinderella’
I don’t know how to begin to express my gratitude to everybody who was involved in the success of the Jamestown Community Theatre’s production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.”
I would like to thank the actors, the crew who worked backstage and on lights, the production team who guided our way, the creative and skilled costumers and the stores and restaurants that helped us by placing ads in our programs.
I would also like to thank the bakers who prepared items for us, the ticket vendors, the recreation department and to the teen center kids who gave up space for us.
Also to the Press’ Walrus, who is our ever-present friend and keeps Jamestown up to date on each step we make from the time we announce a play until the curtain goes down on the last performance.
I would also like to thank our loyal audience and to the parents of cast members, who I congratulate for their 100-percent participation and total involvement from the first rehearsal through the set strike after the last performance. All of us at JCT thank you so much for all of your efforts.
However, I would be amiss if I didn’t give a special thank you to a talented group of people who worked hard for weeks without the applause for excellence that those on stage received. Of course, I am referring to the set designers, artists and construction crew. I am happy to say that many of the compliments I have received since the play have been targeted to their fine work. Creating the magic that happened behind the scenes to build the sets took a lot longer to generate than the fairy godmother and others took on stage to use it.
In fact, the entire show demonstrated so much perseverance – amidst frustration at times – but always with enduring patience and consideration for one another’s needs, lots of laughter, and most of all, an unforgettable feeling of community that will contribute to the heartwarming memories we always will have from our weeks spent together from September through November. I had a wonderful time, and I thank each one of you so much.
