Island churches announce Christmas services

• Central Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas with a candlelight service at 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The service will feature special music by the congregation’s choir and instrumentalists, a sermon on “Where the Story Leads” and the lighting of candles. Central Baptist will also have a service of lessons and carols at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26.

• Saint Matthew Episcopal Church will hold Holy Eucharist services at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The 4 p.m. service will include a children’s Christmas pageant. The 9 p.m. service will feature a Christmas sermon. Both services will include special music.

• Saint Mark Catholic Church will celebrate the holiday on Christmas Eve with services at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The pageant will be held during the earlier service. On Christmas, St. Mark will have a special sermon at 8:30 a.m. and again at 10 a.m. There is no 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday.
