Theatre looking for new talent
This is an invitation to come back to or try a bit of theatre. The Jamestown Community Theatre has enjoyed presenting musicals and stage plays and providing theatre classes for over 20 years. To start 2011 with a new twist, we will present “Tune in to WJTN,” a series of classes that focus on radio shows of the past. Jamestowners ages 11 years old and up are encouraged to get involved. Readings, then rehearsals of radio show scripts, will fill our Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m., at the Jamestown Golf Course from Feb. 2 through April 6.
Culminating performances for audiences are scheduled for April 7-10. We need actors and people to create and work sound effects. For more information, visit www.jamestownri.com/jct and go to the “Next Production” link, or contact Mary Wright by phone (423-9993) or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Registration forms will be available from Jill Goldstein at the recreation center. There is a small fee of $25 for materials, which will be reduced for family participants of two or more. Scholarships will be available. Space is limited, and we encourage sign-ups by Jan. 26.
