Library announces upcoming events
The Friends of the Jamestown Library has announced its schedule of upcoming events for February.
On Friday, Feb. 4, the library will show the film “Traces of the Trade,” followed by a discussion with filmmaker Elizabeth Delude- Dix. Delude-Dix was co-producer and executive producer on this film, which tells of the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history.
It will be the opening program of the Jamestown Historical Society’s community-wide series, “Jamestown and the Silver Screen.”
On Sunday, Feb. 6, the group Celtic Harp will perform “Celebrating Ireland in Story and Song,” an all-Irish concert. Mary King will perform on the fiddle and harp, and will be joined by guitarist Mike McFishman, and Phil Edmonds, a native of Ireland who will perform on the tin whistle.
King will teach an Irish jig before the program, and area step dancers are welcome to join the program. The event starts at 2:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, Feb. 16, Eileen Muldoon will present a photographic journey to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia, starting at 7 p.m.
Muldoon is a Jamestown resident and a professional photographer. She teaches photography and runs several International Photography Workshops.
