A winter to remember

Photo by Jeff McDonough This has been a winter for the record books. Since Christmas it seems that we’ve had one storm right after another. Old man winter delivered nearly 50 inches of snow during the month of January.

February has started off on a similar winter storm track. This week we have been hit with a one-two punch with a pair of storms. If that’s not enough, the forecasters are already talking about another “weather event” expected early next week.

This extreme wintery weather has been costly. The Town has about depleted its annual budget for keeping our roads safe and clear. Homeowners and businesses have also had to pay for snow removal, unless they choose to shovel the snow themselves.

Of course, all this ice and snow makes walking outside treacherous.

Just remember, there are only 38 days until spring!
