Thanks for the help with fundraising
Many thanks to all of our generous friends and neighbors who joined in to support those in need while sharing a delicious meal of soup, bread and desserts at the Empty Bowls fundraiser while listening to the smooth sounds of the piano.
The event raised significant funds to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and local food pantries. With hunger at its highest level in Rhode Island in 10 years, these funds are an important contribution to food pantries.
It would be impossible to name all those who lent us their time and talents so please accept a hearty thank you to the community for all of your efforts.
We also want to recognize event founders Julia and Trish for their continued support and enthusiasm. Thanks also to Greg Gammon and Kettle Cuisine Soups; the Bay Voyage for providing a wellattended ice cream bar; George and Chris for their kitchen help; school principals Carrie Melucci and Kathy Almanzor; Stephanie Pamula and her art students at Lawn Avenue School for creating hundreds of beautiful bowls; Lew Kitts and his crew, who kept us all in good order; Freddie at House of Pizza and Superior Bakery.
We would also like to thank our student helpers in the kitchen and washroom, and our good friends the Cowans and the Flaths for their extra support with everything. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
