Baseball registrations begin for spring season

Registration has started for the Jamestown Baseball Association for the upcoming baseball season. The deadline to register is March 31.

The association consists of four leagues: Cal Ripken Majors, ages 9-12; Cal Ripken Minors, ages 8-10; Rookies, ages 6-7; and T-ball, ages 4-5. All ages are as of April 30. Registration fee for all leagues is $50 before deadline, $75 for late registration.

All participants that plan on playing majors must attend tryouts on April 11-12 at 5 p.m. at Lawn Avenue baseball field. All new and prospective coaches must complete a background check and bring it to the coaches’ meeting on March 8 at 7 p.m. at the police station.

For interested players ages 13 to 16 (as of April 30), there will be a Babe Ruth Baseball meeting on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Fire Station. Interested players are asked to attend with a parent.
