Driving with a suspended license and bench warrant
R. Suzanne Smith, 57, of 30 Franklin St., Newport, was charged Feb. 18 with driving with a suspended license and violating a bench warrant after she was stopped for allegedly having an expired tag. When the police ran her license, the report came back that it was suspended and Smith was in violation of a bench warrant for failure to appear in court, police said.
Smith was not held at the police station. She was taken to Newport District Court where the sheriffs took her into custody, according to police.
Driving with a suspended license
Silvia M. Bolibruch, 46, of 10 Yawl Ave., was charged Feb. 19 with driving with a suspended license after she was stopped for a traffic violation and could not produce a license. After questioning, police confirmed that Bolibruch was driving with a suspended license. An arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 25 at Newport District Court.
